  • In October 2023, Exxon Mobil Corporation and Pioneer Natural Resources announced an agreement for ExxonMobil to acquire Pioneer. The acquisition is an all-stock transaction valued at USD 59.5 billion, or $253 per share, which will boost ExxonMobil’s oil production.
  • In October 2023, China Energy announced that it had invested RMB 127.7 billion in clean and renewable energy from January to September, which was a year-on-year Increase of 51.7%.
  • In August 2022, Shell Overseas Investment B.V., which is wholly owned by Shell plc, completely acquired Sprng Energy Group of Companies and Solenergi Power Private Limited from Actis Solenergi Limited (Actis).
  • In February 2022, Chevron Corporation and Renewable Energy Group (REG) Inc. announced an agreement for Chevron to acquire all the outstanding shares of REG in an all-cash transaction. The acquisition combines REG’s growing renewable fuel production and feedstock capabilities with Chevron’s large manufacturing, distribution, and commercial marketing footprint. The transaction is expected to accelerate the progress toward Chevron’s goal to augment its renewable fuel production capacity.
  • In 2021, Siemens Energy, Porsche, and a consortium of other companies came together to build an integrated plant, which began producing approximately 130,000 liters of synthetic fuels in 2022.
  • In May 2020, Shell plc started manufacturing synthetic kerosene for aviation from hydrogen and recycled carbon.
